Be In The Know - March 8, 2018

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
As was announce at church on March 4th, Dr. Robert Kearney has gone home to be with the Lord. We have not received, and at this time do not expect to receive any information concerning a service for him. We are hearing through various sources that it is likely to be a private burial.

FEATURED ANNOUNCEMENTS
1. Office Hours - Leann will be out of the office all day Friday, March 9 due to multiple meeting during the week. The office will be closed Monday, March 12 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. As Both Pastor Derek and Leann will out caring for members.

2. Memorial Book - we are putting together a book that will be a companion to the memorial plaques. If you know someone whose name is on one of the plaques - we would love your assistance. There is a printed list of all the names at the Welcome Center for you to look at and a simple "In Memory and Honor" form for you to tell us something about that person. We are looking for things like: their service to the church, what they did in life & work, what you would want someone in the future to know about the person.

3. Business Meeting Continued - The business meeting held on March 4 was recessed and will be reconvened on April 8th immediately following the second service. This continuation will be in the Sanctuary and the scheduled potluck will take place once the meeting is adjourned. The sole purpose of this continuation is to vote on the final draft of the Lily Grant proposal before is it submitted for continuation.

4. SPRING AHEAD - don't forget to set your set ahead 1 hour when you go to bed Saturday, March10th - you would want to miss church.

Let Us Know...

Please be sure to fill out a Connect Card each week to let us know you were at church and how the staff can be praying for you. If you attend the first service drop it in the offering plate as it goes by. If you attend the second service you can put the Connect Card in the offering boxes at the back of the Sanctuary. For those of you who regularly fill them out - THANK YOU!

Coming up This Weekend:

On this 4th Sunday of Lent we continue the Cross Fit series with a message from Pastor Derek titled - The Cross: Not Just a Cemetery Entrance Monument, that will focus on Romans 5:8. 

The next Back to Basics: Time In The Word  Bible reading schedule will be available March 25th.

CONNECT

Prayer List Reminder - If you would like a list with full names they are available by request from the Welcome Center and if they run out Leann will be happy to print one for you.
Second Sunday Potluck - March 11 following second service. The church will be providing meatloaf as the main dish. Everyone else is asked to bring a side, salad or dessert to share. The Sandwich Sunday group will boxing hot meals that day as well so make a little extra to share.
Young At Heart - Tuesday, March 20th at 10:30 a.m. with special guests The Barn Players. Invite a friend, bring a dish to share and join the fun.

SERVE

Serve at Grace - March 15th at 5:00 p.m. Sign up sheets are now at the Welcome Center
Homeless Ministry - looking for away to serve, try Sandwich Sunday. Every Sunday after second service simple lunches are taken out to the homeless in the community. For more information contact Melisa Chai
Strengthening Families - March 22, we are looking for a group to provide a meal for those participating in the Strengthening Families program we are hosting. They have about 30 people in attendance. For more detail please contact Leann Carrick.
Egg Hunt Donations - Children's Ministry is looking for donations of plastic eggs and candy. You may either bring the eggs already stuffed with candy, or candy and eggs. Donations may be left at office. Deadline for donation is March 20th
