FEATURED ANNOUNCEMENTS


1. Veteran's Day Celebration
We will be honoring veterans on Friday, November 11 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with a program presented by Terry Holcomb called Recognizing Our Veterans.  Lunch will also be served.

2. Heritage Elementary School Work Day
Saturday, November 19th we'll kick this pre-advent community service opportunity by meeting at the church at 9:15 a.m. for come coffee and donuts. Then from 10:00 - 2:00 we'll work sanding & painting playground equipment and spreading mulch. Sign up at the welcome center.ffice hours ahead of the new labor law that takes affect December 1st. Please be sure to look for these on Sunday.


4. Advent Is Coming













WORSHIP
Update on sound system and recording capabilities. The current expectation for system replacement is Easter 2017. Additional information about this will be forthcoming - keep watching all communication channels for more information.

American Baptist Women Quarterly Gathering
Saturday, November 5 beginning at 9:30 a.m. Everyone is invited to join us for a continental breakfast and to learn about the new NICU and Cancer Center coming to Olathe Medical Center. This Gathering is being hosted by the Lydia Circle.

Here is another pre-Advent  community  service opportunity. November 17th is Serve at Grace. Sign up to serve, provide a dessert or both. Sign up sheets are now at the Welcome Center.  Center of Grace is located at 520 S Harrison Street, Olathe. Be there by 5:00 pm if you are serving.

Be In The Know - October 20, 2016

FEATURED ANNOUNCEMENTS


1. Trunk or Treat
October 26th our Trunk or Treat event will take the place of AWANA.  Supper will start at the usual 5:00 p.m. with Worms on buns with dirty on the menu. At 6:00 p.m. Pumpkin Carving, crafts and games get underway. 7:10 p.m. it's out to the parking lot for trunk or treating. Invite your friends.
We'll will be accepting donations of bags of Candy from now until the 26th. If you plan on decorating your trunk please sign up at the Welcome Center. The Pathfinders small group are sponsoring a contest as par of the festivities - $25 gift cards will be award to the Best Decorated Trunk, Best Adult Costume and Best Teen Costume.

2. Bulletin Inserts
This Sunday there will be two inserts in the bulletin one provides information about a prayer team Pastor Derek is putting together and the other explains some changes being made to church office hours ahead of the new labor law that takes affect December 1st. Please be sure to look for these on Sunday.

1. Craft Fair & Bake Sale
The annual Craft Fair & Bake Sale will be here before we know it - October 15th 8 a.m -  2 p.m. The funds raised at this event sponsored by our American Baptist Women goes to support the mission of American Baptist Women and the church.  Breakfast & Lunch will be served by the ladies. What's needed? Three things... 1. Volunteers are needed for set-up October 13-14 and for various positions on October 15th. 2. Donations of crafted items, baked goods, homemade candies, and canned goods and 3. To get the word out - flyers will be available at the Welcome Center. There is a new question in the Bulletin this week. In preparation for the coming year we are trying to determine who would like to have an Offering Envelope Book. This is a book of 52 weeks worth of offering envelopes. The question has three parts:
Did you get an offering envelop book at the beginning of the year? YES or NO
If YES would you like one for 2017? YES or NO
If NO would you like one for 2017? YES or NO
As you answer this question please be sure to put your name on the Connect Card. - Thanks
