1. Office Hours

The office will be closed Thursday, 11/24 for Thanksgiving and will be open Friday, 11/25 until  3:30 p.m.  

2. Holiday Potluck

Sunday, December 11th we'll gather for a Holiday Potluck following the second service (right around noon) If your last name begins with....please bring

        I - Q Salad or Side

        R - Z Dessert

3. Business Meeting

We will have our end of the year business meeting Wednesday, December 14th. Supper will be served at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. At this meeting we will vote on the 2017 Diaconate Slate, the 2017 Budget, provide an overview of what we've accomplished for the Kingdom and give an update on facility projects for 2017.

Coming up Sunday:

This Sunday we begin the Season of Advent. This important season on the church calendar is a time when we reflect on the first coming of Christ as we celebrate His birth and look forward with anticipation of His second coming. We celebrate the 1st Sunday of Advent with the start of our Advent series The Missing Link and a message titled Where's The Hope? we'll be reflecting on Luke 1:26-38. During the service we will also light the first Advent candle - Mary's Candle.

A Christmas Night of Worship:

Join us for a wonderful evening of music as we celebrate the Season of Advent on Sunday, December 18th at 6:30 p.m.  This will be a great event to invite friends and family to.

Wednesday Night Supper - Something Surprise 

Please be sure to fill-out a Connect Card and let us know you'll be joining us for supper. 

All are invited to attend the preschool Christmas program Say Cheese for Christmas December 6th at 6:30 p.m.

As of this writing we have posted 161.25 hours toward our Be the Missing Link community service goal of 2000 hours by Christmas. If you serve as a volunteer anywhere in the community you can count those hours. Hour record sheets and a list of current service opportunities are available at the Welcome Center and can be turned into the office. Service opportunities will also be listed on the website simply click on "Advent Info" and then "Serving Opportunities" to learn more.

New Hope Food Pantry (13310 S Blackbob Rd) is the location of our next group serving opportunity. December 12th 8:45am - noon. If you would like to be part of this please sign up at the Welcome Center

Be In The Know - November 17, 2016

FEATURED ANNOUNCEMENTS

1. Heritage Elementary School Work Day

Saturday, November 19th we'll kick off this pre-advent community service opportunity by meeting at the church at 9:15 a.m. for come coffee and donuts. Then from 10:00 - 2:00 we'll work sanding & painting playground equipment and spreading mulch. Didn't sign up? That's ok just be at the church at 9:15 a.m.

2. Business Meeting

The office will close Friday 11/18 at 3:45 p.m.  As we continue to make adjustments in preparation of the new labor law taking effect 12/1 the decision has been made to change the church office hours to 8am - 4pm eliminating the need to close the office for an hour each day.  Friday will continue to be flexible depending on what else is happening in a given week.

4. Help Needed

Update on sound system and recording capabilities. The current expectation for system replacement is Easter 2017. Additional information about this will be forthcoming - keep watching all communication channels for more information.

We will be honoring veterans on Friday, November 11 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with a program presented by Terry Holcomb called Recognizing Our Veterans.  Lunch will also be served.

Leann will be out of the office on Monday, November 7 using up the last of her accumulated comp time ahead of the changes being made to the labor law.  Please also remember that beginning next week teh office will close for lunch 11:30 - 12:30 and Friday's will be shortened depending on overtime worked.
