1. Result of Name Change Vote
Our regularly scheduled Business meeting was held July 20th at 6:30 p.m. At this meeting we voted on changing the name of the Olathe Campus to Connections Community Church. The Diaconate had determined ahead of the meeting that the motion would require a 2/3 majority in order to pass. The results of the vote: A total of 144 ballots were cast. 96 was the number required for the motion to pass. Total YES votes 79 - Total NO votes 65. The motion was denied.
2. Everyone Is Invited
The American Baptist Womens Ministry and the Luther Rice Association will host its Summer Rally on Tuesday, July 26 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church - DeSoto. This event is open to ladies and gentlement. Supper will be served and the guest speaker is Nathan March who is the Associate Executive Minister for American Baptist Church Central Region. 3. Project 20/$25
We have a current mission project to provide 20 - $25 gift cards from either Walmart, Target or Kohls in order to partner with the Olathe Schools and other non-profit organization in providing the opportunity for homeless kids on our communities to get what they need (especially clothing) for the start of the school year. The deadline for this project is August 6th. You may drop off gift cards to Leann at the church office during normal business hours.

Camp FBC finishes up Monday, July 25th at 2:00 p.m. Camp FBC is open to kids 3-years old and up.
Wednesday Night Supper - returns to its regularly scheduled time of 5:00 p.m. and Taco Salad is on the menu.

Missionary Visit
Join us Wednesday, August 3rd at 6:00 p.m. as we are joined by Dan & Sarah Chetti, missionaries from Beirut, Lebanon. Supper will be served at the regular time of 5:00 p.m. Then everyone is encouraged to join us in the Sanctuary to hear the amazing stories of what God is doing in Lebanon.
