FEATURED ANNOUNCEMENTS

1. Emergency Congregational Meeting

October 2nd we will hold an emergency congregational meeting. Lunch will be provided following the 10:45 a.m. service and the meeting will follow lunch. The two primary topics for the meeting will be the ratification of the new Church Finance Policy and a discussion of the next update projects for the Santuary and Parlor. It is likely you have received an email concerning this meeting already. Information will also be arriving via traditional mail in the next few days. If you will be joining us for lunch please let Leann Carrick know how many will eating so we can plan for enough food. 1. Coats For Kids

This year we are partnering with Heritage Elementary School to provide coats for children in grades kindergarten through 5th grade. Donations of gently used and new coats for kids are now being accepted. There is a box located in the Welcome Center near the wooden cross. Please bring your donations to the church by September 25th.

2. Blanket Sunday

September 25th is Blanket Sunday, our American Baptist Women sponsor this important fundraising event each year. All monies raised as go to purchase warm blankets. The cost of one blanket is $10. Last year we raised just over $700 to provide warm blankets for those in need across the U.S. and around the world. Let's see if we can provide even more warm blankets this year. 

3. Craft Fair & Bake Sale

The annual Craft Fair & Bake Sale will be here before we know it - October 15th 8 a.m -  2 p.m. The funds raised at this event sponsored by our American Baptist Women goes to support the mission of American Baptist Women and the church.  Breakfast is served by American Baptist Men, Lunch by the ladies. What's needed? Three things... 1. Volunteers are needed for set-up October 13-14 and for various positions on October 15th. 2. Donations of crafted items, baked goods, homemade candies, and canned goods and 3. To get the word out - flyers will be available at the Welcome Center. Please be sure to fill out a Connect Card each week to let us know you were at church and how the staff can be praying for you. You can also sign-up for Wednesday Night Supper that way. For those of you who regularly fill them out - THANK YOU!

Young at Heart is a great way to connect, join them Tuesday, September 20th at 10:30 a.m. along with their musical guests The Christian Strings. Bring a dish to share and join the fun.

Wednesday Night Supper - Ham Loaf

SERVE

The Coats For Kids coat drive is coming along nicely. We have received quite a few new and gently used coats so far.  We are looking for someone who is will to give the used coats a good before we give them to the kids. The coats would need to be washed and back to the church by September 25th. If you are able to serve in this way let Leann Carrick know.

We're looking for volunteers for our new Guest Services team. This team will be responsible for making guests feel welcome. For more information see Pastor Derek.

Our preschool has a serving opportunity coming up on Friday, September 23rd at 5:30 p.m. Pizza will be served and then volunteers will prep some rooms for new carpeting. Preparation include moving furniture and removing the base trim. For more information text or call Mandy King at 913-749-3583.
